Passed with an 802!

Just passed my network+ exam with a 802! I studied hard core for the past week, but off and on casually before that (I would say probably a total of 3 weeks of studying). I have networking experience but only in a SOHO environment (small office / home office). My main reading source was Mike Meyers Network+ Passport and some videos mainly Messer's on topics I thought I was weak in. Also had study guides and took practice questions from here and from other sites.

All I wanted to do was pass it as soon as possible so I can start studying for Security+ and take it by year end. That's something I'm not too experienced with other than the really basic stuff.

PM me if anyone of you are taking the exam soon with any questions.

I want to PM you but I've just joined. I've just scheduled to take the exam next month (Dec 23rd).

I do know there's some thngs I have to perfect such as understanding the 7 layers properly since I know there are questions that ask of a certain function working with which layer.

Same goes for IEEE 802's, understanding all networking tools commands, wireless (antennas) and lastly all networking connectors.

Congratulations!! What's the answer to question 3? icon_lol.gif Good luck on Security+. If you study hard you can surely knock it out before the end of the year.

This is along the lines of memorization rather than true understanding, but I found a new (new for me anyways) acronym for the OSI model that I like WAY better than the sausage pizza acronym!

@ehnde: Haha thanks! The answer for Question #3 was C :D

@americanpie: Don't let the OSI layers intimidate you. It seems like everyone said thats the most difficult part of the exam, so I certainly hit that the hardest when I first studied but it became a piece of cake by exam time. :)

Congrats! Like you, I've been studying casually for a while but have just now really gotten down to it. It's been about a week and just starting to feel confident.

Thanks Josh, Krauser, N2IT, and Pratt! goodluck on your exams as well, let us know how you all did :)

Also setting an actual test date helps motivate me. I study better when procrastinating.

@americanpie & ehnde, I stuck with the sausage pizza acronym :D
