I have decided to learn Powershell little by little while I studying 70-640. The only reason why I decided to learn it is because I might use it in the future, and the command prompt is always more stable than GUI anyways.
Now, the problem is I know nothing about scripting. I can't write or read a script.
Is there a book that you can recommend for someone like me who has no experience and knowledge in scripting?
This is going to be the first language I am going to learn. I hope everything goes well for me.
Thanks

I really like this oone as well:

But some of the stuff might be hard to grasp in that one as it covers some more advanced topics. -

I might even start reading this book as well, especially since it's free for me via Books 24x7No longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives. -

Here is a decent intro video you might like to watch.

There are tons of resources on the web. I'm fairly decent with PoSh but I have never actually purchased a book on it. I did have a background in a couple other languages, though. -
Optionsthehourman Member Posts: 723Going to watch that video tomorrow when I get off of work.
I downloaded some audio podcast for my iPad since I traffic is always there waiting for me.
Need to charge the bluetooth earpiece for tomorrow's trek, so no more Metal music in the morning.Studying:

OptionsPash Member Posts: 1,600 ■■■■■□□□□□I only purchased two books for Posh, and they were helpful in their own ways.
Windows PowerShell 2.0 Administrator's Pocket Consultant Administrator's Pocket Consultant: Amazon.co.uk: William Stanek: Books
Windows PowerShell Cookbook eBook: Lee Holmes: Amazon.co.uk: Kindle Store
I am not an expert, but it is nice to be able to write your own scripts for situations and to keep learning new things. I think I have had plenty of little uses for WMI and Posh in many windows based enviroments.DevOps Engineer and Security Champion. https://blog.pash.by - I am trying to find my writing style, so please bear with me. -
