Any recommendations for a rootkit scanner?
exampasser
Recently this evening I got a lovely rootkit warning from Avast dealing with ipnathlp.dll. I think it may be a false positive but just to be sure I'm doing a full hdd scan. Are there any good free rootkit scanning tools out there that anybody can recommend?

I think there is currently a thread about general solutions but my favorite is Hiren:
Download Hiren's BootCD 12.0
. Scroll to the bottom of the page for the .zip which holds a .iso. Its basically a WinPE mod with all sort of goodies

Thanks.

I had some luck with Hitman Pro recently. It is a pay program but the initial scan and clean is free.

Apparently it is a false alarm, the dll that avast "corrected" came up as corrupt with the windows system file checker and the utility restored it.
