Windows Live - Officially too bloated for me
hypnotoad
Ok, first of all it's become a several hundred meg download and now has like 8 components in it to use these online services that you probably dont need.
Second, the MSN Messenger takes up the entire screen by default - in the latest version.
Third, the news it gives you is now total crap (like most news) - Miley Cyrus junk and viral videos.
Fourth, it pooched our image. We would make an image with our software and the updates, sysprep it, and make an image using imagex, deployed via WDS. This worked fine until the recent MSN Live update. If MSN Live was in the image, it would bomb out on the sysprep. We had to eliminate software 1 by 1 out of our image to find the culprit. It set us back a hundred hours of work.
This program is now on my blacklist. Hopefully that final paragraph can help somebody who experiences the same problem with imaging.

I've not had much issue with it. But I don't install or use the other 8 add on things that it comes with either.

Education -- students need to be able to contact their families. Or so they tell me.

I use Windows Live at home to keep the kids off of sites they don't need to be on. Other than that I deselected all of the other utilities it comes with. You're right, though, it is a bit bloated.
