CCNP Advices

in CCNP
Hi all ,

I would need some ccnp advices on the books and the lab equipment .

The cisco press library and sybex books are enough with my equipment ?
Or I need other stuff like 2950 switches and 2600 routers ?


My equipment :

1 soho 77 adsl
1 cisco 1601r with serial and bri cards
1 cisco 1700 with serial
1 catalyst 1912
1catalyst 1924

    Hi,

    I would want to buy the ccnp library, but I also would wanto to know how long the 642-xxx ccnp exams will remain in the learning path.

    Who knows? Cisco can update or change the exams at any time, just like any vendor can. Makes things rough on publishers and practice test providers, but it keeps their certification program fresh and difficult - a very good thing.

    i think you better have any mid size modular router -> like 2600 you've said, but 1700 also OK. the cat1900/2900 will do just fine, and dont forget SIMULATOR box, that is the most important thing to have. there is a VCONSOLE with 2 PRI and 8 POTS will do your lab to be a real world ISP.
