Born to Learn has announced that the following SQL Server 2005 exams will retire on June 30, 2011.

70-431 TS: Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Implementation and Maintenance
70-441 PRO: Designing Database Solutions by Using Microsoft SQL Server 2005
70-442 PRO: Designing and Optimizing Data Access by Using Microsoft SQL Server 2005
70-443 PRO: Designing a Database Server Infrastructure by Using Microsoft SQL Server 2005
70-444 PRO: Optimizing and Maintaining a Database Administration Solution by Using Microsoft SQL Server 2005
70-445 TS: Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Business Intelligence Development and Maintenance
70-446 PRO: Designing a Business Intelligence Solution by Using Microsoft SQL Server 2005
70-447 UPGRADE: MCDBA Skills to MCITP Database Administrator by Using Microsoft SQL Server 2005

    Well that sucks, I wanted to take 70-431 but I'm packets deep in Cisco land right now .

    It's about time for them to retire but MS should still hold off a while IMO. SQL 2005 is still in wide use in some environments and is still supported by the newer server OSes.
    No longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives.

    It's typical for exams to retire when the product has 2 versions out and SQL Server 2011 is right around the corner.

    2005 to 2008 is not a huge leap. If you get certified on 2008 you will be good on 2005.
