A+ today!
Landed 220-701 and 220-702 with scores of 842/900 and 797/900 respecively.
A large chunk of all the material I learned never even made it into the exams.
Next plan: Network+ and MCP together

Sure. I used/did the following:
1) The A+ Bible:
Amazon.com: A+ Guide to Managing & Maintaining Your PC (978143549778: Jean Andrews: Books
2) Amazon.com: CompTIA A+ 220-701 and 220-702 Practice Questions Exam Cram (9780789742575): Patrick Regan: Books
3) Amazon.com: CompTIA A+ Certification All-In-One For Dummies (9780470487389): Glen E. Clarke, Edward Tetz: Books
4) Amazon.com: Mike Meyers' CompTIA A+ Certification Passport, Fourth Edition (Exams 220-701 & 220-702) (9780071702980): Michael Meyers: Books
5) Professor Messer's Free 220-70x CompTIA A+ Training Course | Professor Messer - CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Certification Training
6) Transcender CompTIA A+ Certification Training | Practice Exams | Online Training
7) I bought several other textbooks other than the ones mentioned above. I didn't read them; however, I DID do the accompanying pratice exams of *every* textbook I owned multiple times. I noted and flashcarded the Qs I got wrong.
Don't piss about. Make full notes from your study books (I typed all mine into Word docs and also made a ton of tables of all the stuff you need to memorize). Make flashcards - I made at least 3,000. Do as many practice exams as you can and learn from your wrong answers. Read Wiki articles and use useful sites like Computer Hope's free computer help. Wiki and Google are your good friends Use all the free online resources you can, provided you're confident they're sound. Make sure you know the official A+ objectives from CompTIA and you've got them all covered. Know more than you need to know just to pass the exams.
Well, that's what I did
Good luck!
