what to do about job sites (monster, dice, etc) once you get hired?

So I got a job... I start Monday... what's the rule about my job profiles on Monster, Career Builder, Dice, etc? Do I leave them there and update my resume? or delete my profile?

Congrats on your new job!!! Honestly, I guess that depends, but if I were you, I would take it down for the time im employed there (unless your job is temoprary). Or if you were working there for a while but you want to move on to another job

Not sure how those ones work, but isn't there an option of "currently not seeking employment opportunities", or something?

I just leave it and update it every once in a while. You never know, your dream job might contact you out of the blue. Thats how I got my current job. Just a random email one day from someone that found my resume on one of the job boards.

I would say keep it there, and updated, but either dont make it viewable, or make it say currently not looking for employment.

Agreed! You don't want to be so dedicated to your employer that you miss out.

Funny thing. Back in December Playboy actually listed a desktop/server admin job here in Chicago. Since it wasn't at the mansion, I passed.

I'd keep them all updated but turn off the alerts (for the ones that have alerts)
No longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives.

I really want to focus on the new job and school right now so I'll probably just leave my profiles as they are for a while. The people searching the resumes don't generally bother with the ones that haven't been updated recently.

Although I hopefully won't be actively looking in a few months I'll probably go ahead and update my resume/profiles around that time.

I just ignore them. If I'm seeking employment, I update them, but once I've obtained employment, anything they send me starts getting filtered to the trash.
