Job application question

I was looking for some IT tier I or II position, and some of them are stating that we have to email our resume and salary requirements.

My question is how am I going to state my salary requirements?
If you were to apply an IT position that asking for salary requirements, what would you say?

A range.

I find that most companies requesting that up front aren't places I'd like to work, as they're focused on how much you cost them and not how much value you bring them.

I ignore it.

If they insist on a number, I'll toss out a really big one and move on.
