Remote start-up
Hi
The amount of PC's in my house has grown since I installed 4 PC's into my lads bedroom, plus we have PC in living room and bedroom, plus we have 2 laptops
I am trying to find a good reliable program to startup and shutdown pc's remotly
Can anyone recommend one
Oh and if anyone would like to see the pictures of my boys room I think you will like it, I built 2 double wardrobes putting 4 PC's and the Virgin box behind one of the doors, just let me know I will post em up
Thanks

Do your PC's support Wake-On-Lan???
If they do then your all set, just configure it in the bios on all machines and then write a cli script for windows after finding a decent free wol.exe to run.
Let me know if you have any issues.

As long as they're all set on the same workgroup.
Start, Run, shutdown -i
Like someone else said, make sure the motherboard/LAN support wake-on LAN.2017 Certification Goals:

Optionsarwes Member Posts: 633 ■■■□□□□□□□Yeah if they support Wake on LAN, you might try this out:
WakeOnLAN - Aquila Technology, LLC
It's worked pretty well for me at the office.Started WGU - BS IT:NDM on 1/1/13, finished 12/31/14
Working on: Waiting on the mailman to bring me a diploma
What's left: Graduation! -

I am only trying it on 1 PC at the moment until I get it working, I have installed a copy of solar winds lan surveyor, but when I try to see information about a PC I get following message
"The NEON responder seems to be unresponsive"
also on start up I get this, am guessing it has something to do with this problem but I have never used solar winds so am a bit of a noob
"At launch, LAN surveyor sends an ICMP ping/echo to itself to test your system settings. A response was not recieved.
Therefore the following features are unavailable
Node discovery via ICMP"
But it does find all of my PC's and their names and IP's show in a nice little diagram
Any help would be great. -
