Knowing what "ConnectWise" is for interview

Buddy of mine calls me up to let me know his dad wants to interview me for an open spot in their shop, while going through with me what i will be tested upon he mention "Connect Wise" do you guys have any experience or information on what it is perhaps.

Just wondering I saw an ad for a job in griffin today and they mentioned Connect Wise. which by the way is "professional service automation" software. It does CRM, ticketing, billing all that kind of stuff. Hmm.. couldn't hurt to ask what they mean by that. I mean, if they just want to ensure you know a ticketing system just prove to them you do. On the other hand they may actually want someone to maintain the CRM and reporting modules. It can also connect to other service providers boards too. The "ConnectWise network".

This is allows small local shops to team up to provide service over large areas etc etc.

It's a lot like any other help desk application. . . Remedy, Heat, or what have you. If you haven't used ConnectWise but have used a help desk ticketing system, pitch your experiences with that help desk system.

Connectwise(pretty sure there isn't a space) is a incident ticketing system. We use it at my current employee for one of our clients. I don't know much more than that because I've never used it. Sorry I can't help you out any more than that.

From what I can tell it should be really easy to get familiar with though. Most ticketing systems are pretty easy...With the exception of HP Openview. That is about the most worthless piece of crap I've ever used.

Like others have said, ConnectWise is a ticketing system. It allows end-users/clients to create tickets through a web portal/email, or you can create them manually.

It allows you to keep track of how much time you've spent on a ticket, how much of your time is billable towards a client. It has a KB feature that you can use to document well known bugs/errors and resolution. It's a pretty complex piece of software that can do a lot of things but it's pretty easy to use.

Pretty much nail on the head. I use it at my current job and it took a bit to learn (actually still learning) it is pretty complex but offers a lot. Everyone else here pretty much covered its uses. I'm sure its not TOO different from the other software out there but hey what do I know..its is my 1st help desk job.
