I understand there are a lot of errors in this book. Does/Has Microsoft made any corrections to the book and re-released it?

apena7 Member Posts: 351So which is the best book to get for the 780-680 exam?
MCTS Self-Paced Training Kit (Exam 70-680): Configuring Windows 7 is actually the best of the exam study guides, but that isn't saying much. If the chapters on deployment are confusing, check out Windows 7 Desktop Support and Administration: Real World Skills for MCITP Certification and Beyond (Exams 70-685 and 70-686) written by Darril Gibson. Also, be sure to get a copy of the Windows 7 Resource Kit to fill in the gaps.Usus magister est optimus -

Is the book by Darril Gibson the same quality as his Security+ book? -

I received the MS Press Book in the mail last week and finished it this morning. Soooo many things make so much more sense now. Will swear by Press Books for now on!!
Question: How similar are the questions from the Press Book CD Practice tests to the actual exam? Just curious.WGU - MBA: I.T. Management --> Graduated!!

Not that similar and this is the rule for MS, expect to get some questions that are not mentioned at all in the book that's normal too.
The book is good, I read it it's not the best book MS wrote just make sure to look for the mistakes since there are a lot of them in the syntax/commands. -

veritas_libertas Member Posts: 5,746 ■■■■■■■■■■The 680 book was terrible, and that is the only way to put it. I would use the following books:
- The MS Press 680 book
- The MS Press 685 book
- and of course Darril's book

ampersand Member Posts: 29 ■□□□□□□□□□According to the O'Reilly errata website, Microsoft corrected most or all of the errata in a February 2011 reprint. But I purchased my copy two weeks ago, and it has all of the original errors.

I exchanged my Microsoft Press 70-680 book for Darril Gibson's Windows 7 Desktop Support and Administration book from Sybex, and I'm much happier now. The latter is highly recommended. -

But DG definitely holds a ton of weight with me, I (along with many others) owe our Sec+ to him. I'll end up getting it to read through later this summer as a refresher if I get to roll out 7 in my environment as planned. -

Agreed. That Security+ book kept my interest from the time I opened it first, to the time I closed it for good. Helped well on the exam too. Think I'll buy more books from him when studying for upcoming exams.CompTIA: A+, Security+, Network+
