I have an interview Friday at my college for a student help desk position. I'm going be competing against 3 other individuals and I was wondering if anybody could offer any advice/suggestion, anything that you think would help me land this position.
Thanks for the help.

I would say try to get a letter of recommendation from one of your instructors. Also, if if your GPA is 3.0 or higher, then mention this during the interview. I would talk about any projects you have been working on to improve your skills, show that you want to push yourself. Try find out what the college is working towards and ask question how they seen that role fitting with there plans, show that you took the time to research them.
Also show them you have a logical approach to solve problems. Have a list of question to ask them etc show them you really want this job. ( not to put of desperation thought lol)

About the letter of recommendation from a professor, I don't think I will be able to get one in time for the interview since my classes don't start up until the 18th. I'm still on xmas break, but I'm bringing in my resume and when I filled out the application online for this position I put down a manager at my work (movie theater - usually work on breaks), one of my high school teachers(which I helped her with computer problems and she ran the tech club which I did with her), and an advice/concealer at my college ( Everybody liked him and respected him, though he isn't there he still helps me and other students out. He is a principle of a school now).
Also I haven't done anything like projects at school except somethings that I wanted to do, but in high school I set up a file sever running ubuntu and put in security and backup measures for it. I also taught the teacher how to use it (btw same teacher in resume). She is still using it and I go back and check on it and help her out with issues. For example she lost some files and I couldn't go and help her so we communicated by email and she got it up and going.
Other than that I helped my family with computer and electronics issues. Helped my dad with getting his laptop up and running, itunes issues, ipod/ipad issues, helped my mom by doing maintenance/cleaning up her laptop, setting up a scanner and teaching her how to use it, and helping my brother with doing a clean install of his laptop, and many other computer issues he has with it. Other that helped my other relatives with their cell phones.
Thoughts/Ideas/Suggests/Comments are welcome
