The cheapest option you'll find short of being fortunate enough to have an employer cover the expense, is to see if there are any schools near you whom participate in the VMware IT Academy program.

Had a 5 days training course for VMware when I started a new job (4 months ago) and I had no clue what VMware was all about. Now learning everyday and I plan to take the exam by jan/feb time frame next year. From what I heard; you have to take a training in order to take the VMware exam.

The course cost $3495.00 and the employer paid for it. We were about 12 people in the training M-F from 8 am to 5 pm

@azjag, got it, thanks. The actual link of the vm course at UCSC Extension for anyone interested.

I recall the course used to be $950, then $1050. Now it's $1200.

All the online ones seem to be doing this. Guess they figure that they're still cheaper than a VCI course.

Don't forget VMUG subscription. Pays for itself in 1 exam or 1 course. :)
