Sigh....subnetting

in CCNA & CCENT
Ok I've pretty much got everything nailed for my CCENT apart from subnetting. It's not that I don't understand the concepts or even how to do it, I just keep making stupid mistakes.
For instance, I had a spare five minutes today at work and I thought I'll practice some subnetting. Done a class A network no problem, come to do a class B and I ended up subnetting as a class A
Has anyone got any tips on overcoming little mistakes like this?

Retention is repetition. Just keep at it, know your mistakes and keep trying. -

OP: have you watched Wendel Odom's CCNA video mentor?
Well worth it.....made subnetting seem easy. Once you do it his way a few times, it will come second nature.A+
