I'd have answered honestly - I'm right on some things, left on others, and straight down the middle on everything else. Conflicted.

I've turned down interview requests with organizations that push political views I don't jive with - I certainly won't begrudge them doing the same to me. Truth be told, if our views were that far apart that it would be enough to matter, I'd probably wouldn't have wanted to work there in the first place.
