erpadmin Member Posts: 4,165 ■■■■■■■■■■For Northern Virginia....I have socks that are worth $15/hr (to quote a good friend of mine....lmao).
I would pass and call it a day. The level of work required does not match the pay...even and especially in this economy. -
dangtran09 Member Posts: 26 ■□□□□□□□□□it's considerably low...and why would an employer post a position that's underpaid and overwork?
on the other hand, i do need a job and need the network exp.
tough decision. -
Bokeh Member Posts: 1,636 ■■■■■■■□□□They want someone cheap, who can do everything under the sun. The folks with this experience will not apply for the job, so they will eventually take someone with less experience or no experience, and end up paying the price.
I am not saying this will happen on this job, but have seen this scenario before. -
SteveO86 Member Posts: 1,42315 Bucks and hour for all that.. I would try and negotiate for more.. Although the company might be trying to low-ball people due to the economy.. Never know.
You say 45 minutes away how many miles? Gas is a bit over 3 bucks by me so gas expenses should be taken into consideration as well.My Networking blog

RobertKaucher Member Posts: 4,299 ■■■■■■■■■■I agree with everyone here. As a database guy I have to say $15/hr to manage so much means one of two things (but it could be both):
1. The company does not value the position and sees it as a cost center. They will try to get every cent of that $15.00 out of you.
2. The company is very small and there is not much to do.
That being said I got my start with database work at a small company making not much more than that. My next step nearly doubled my salary... -
ITdude Member Posts: 1,181 ■■■□□□□□□□I agree. I think even Costco pays it's cashiers considerably higher than that.I usually hang out on 224.0.0.10 (FF02::A) and 224.0.0.5 (FF02::5) when I'm in a non-proprietary mood.
