Cisco Specialist Certifications.

Who are they aimed for? I see they have some for ASA, WLAN, R&S, etc.. completely separate from the normal Associate, Professional, and Expert level certs.. Because I can't put my finger on it.. Why would I want to a WLAN specialist when I can do CCNP-Wireless or R&S specialist when I can be CCNP?

What are your thoughts?

The only people I have seen going for the specialists (besides the ones that come with the CCSP) worked for Cisco partners and needs them for work.

Is it like the general certs stripped down into multiple "specialist" fields?

I'm going for the ASA specialist because I work with ASA's but don't have the desire to do the rest of the CCSP exams.

I've read the Specialist certs expire every 2 years compared to every 3for the normal ones. Just another thought to keep in mind.
