MCITP:EA + Messaging LAB SETUP

Techies,

I'm currently pursuing the MCITP:EA + Messaging 2010 certifications.

I would like to setup a lab and have the trial versions of both Server 08 and Exchange 10 running.

What computers and networking equipment will I need ?

will a simple netgear router and 2 new computers be sufficient ?

probably 1.6+ GHZ, 4GB Ram, 200 GB of HD Space..............would do you think ?

I think you are going to need more RAM, at least 8 Gb. Have a look at the system requirements for Exchange 2007 & Exchange 2010. I am in the same boat, I've built a lab to learn Exchange once I've finished my MCSE. I haven't really got in to the nut and bolts of it yet, but at the very least you need to pass the minimum system requirements.

You will also need a CPU that allows you to install 64 bit guest operating systems. If you intend to use VMware workstation. I think it has to have Intel® Virtualization Technology (VT-x) enabled.
Minimum a core2 or better a quad core would be good start with gigabit nics and what Asif said, as much ram as u can fit in it.
