70-662?

70-662 Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, Configuring

I am taking a training course on this topic right now because we are going to migrate to Exch 2010 eventually. I wasn't initially going to take any exam or try to cert on this, but the topic has come up between my boss and myself and he said he will back me and pay for it if I wanted to persue it. So I ask, should I? Is this part of any other tracks, or an elective in any other tracks I could pursue further down the road?

What you guys think? Anyone taken it? Suggestions?

If you want to go down the Exchange path, go for it. Since your boss is sending you to this course, I suppose he'd expect you to be able to assist (or maybe DIY) in the migration process? Even if the course is not too informative (as quite a few aren't), the course should help you to some extent when you do migrate.

This exam is part of the MCITP: EMA certification, which comprises of two exams, the 662 and the 663. The 662 I have heard is not too hard, but the 663 can turn ugly if you are new to Exchange 2010. A couple of members here are EMA's, Claymoore and Chivalry1, so you may want to ask for their input too.

I might end up doing this. If for nothing else because the exam i think forces you to learn more about the topic than just a training course. Plus, whos to turn down another free cert if it pertains to your duties?
