My MCITP journey has ended

Yesterday marked the end date for it, well I might have some other MS exams but not sure when.
The Journey started back in March of last year when I made a decision to get my MCITP, I didn't complete my MCSE journey and that was really a shame because I did pass two exams then suddenly the time stopped and 6 years after I was empty handed really. I did get my CCNA in 2006 but I haven’t really practice it that much and I didn't have the recourses to go beyond it.
Anyhow the journey started in March 2010 and ended in February 2011, not really 11 months so since I moved from Syria to Saudi Arabia in December and I haven’t really study till next week of January.
I had so many things to do before and after I came here but I managed to really focus in the last two weeks and I had a long weekend which was very helpful indeed.
To summarize it here is what I've used
My laptop which is i3 2.13 with 4 GB of memory and 500GB hard disk
Win 7 Professional
VMware free edition
and lots of virtual machines (2008,2008R2,Win7,XP and 2003R2)
As for books I did get the MS book for each of those 6 exams and Sybex for 5 of them (only 643 was an exception). I did have Windows 2008 R2 Unleached lately which was helpful as well
I do recommend this as a strategy always, reading from more than one resource is better. I always read the books then read them again and take notes while I'm reading when I'm done reading I would take practice test and see how I'm doing then I would again focus on my weak areas. I also do a practice test before I read the books just to see where I'm standing.
I haven’t used any Video resources I never felt I need them because I tend to lab a lot and I don't have enough money to buy them so I can't give my advice on that.
I'm happy I threw in the MCITP-SA in the middle it did give me a push and was a good reading.
To rate exams I would say this is from hardest to easiest
646
647
643
680
640
642
For those who are interested
I would in the end thank everyone here in the forum who were really very supportive during my study and thanks all the unknown soldiers (like earweed and claymore) who spent LOTs of time writing threats and collecting resources and answering questions for members this is really a Nobel thing to do and I just appreciate it.
Well enough said already now it's party time but not for a long time I have Sec+ at the end of month then I really have a long road. I haven’t made my mind yet but it's not gonna be easy

Good for you, just make sure you have a plan and you will be fine. I suggest you start with 70-642 since it's the Network Infrastructure one so your CCNA will help -

Honestly, I'd have to disagree. I went that route and think the 70-642 would have been much easier if I had done the 70-640 first.Current Study Track

True, there has been a lot of discussion about this and there are really two opinions here.
That's why I said I suggest -

Hopefully I bring back a win next month on this as well. I was planning on doing this test last month but had some life issues and was hospitalized earlier this month and now I'm moving in 2 weeks (though way less of a move than you had) so I'm putting it off again.
I'm currently rereading a lot of the technet articles from my resource thread and rereading the books. I'm also looking at some of the technet articles others have added to my resource thread. No longer work in IT. Play around with stuff sometimes still and fix stuff for friends and relatives. -

Thanks man, you've been really helpful especially with the R2 stuff I recommend that you book a date since you've already finished reading that would give you a push even if you reschedule. I think I rescheduled three times before actually talking the test.
Moving sucks, just the idea of moving is really bad it's not something I enojoyed or will enjoy in the future.
I hope that you feel better now. -

Thanks a lot, actually I do I have Security+ at end of this month. No rest for me this month
When it comes to future, that's really hard to answer at this point, I'm currently working in Business Continuity and I really like so I'm considering doing some entry level cert for it like Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP) then something more advanced.
I might go CISSP way which is not a short way, I'm also considering some vitualization certs like VM new one (which doesn't require a course) or one of MS.
I originally had plans for Exchange but those are cancelled for now. I can't say I have a definitive route. I'm still trying to find out.. -

za3bour Member Posts: 1,062 ■■■■□□□□□□Are you gonna order the MS printed version? I plan to do that once I get mine.
Yep I've already did just now, I did order all of the certs back in October if you patch them together it's like 1$ each.
They do look good. I do like old design though. -

I got mine from MS a couple of weeks ago and yes they do look good and are printed on decent quality paper.
