Adding Training Videos

I went out and bought a webcam today in order to start some training videos so I can start studying the MCITP-EA.

I'll more than likely use my blog to host these videos. And possible sell them as a file for a couple of dollars if you wanted to be mobile with it.

I'm looking to provide some unique content of course. I'm going to video tape my steps after reading each chapter. I'll tape the labs from the very beginning, showing the troubles I ran into and how to solve them... This is different than pre-creating labs, recording it when it works perfectly. I'll also teach you what labs to make off the fly, and how to study efficiently.

I think this will be better than a pre-built kind of learning session... As IT is NEVER pre-built and it doesn't teach you really how the field works.

I hope this keeps me motivated. :)

Does anyone know of good free video software? I just want to show my screen, then cut back to webcam and edit out scenes I don't need.

I tried it a few times. But my video editing skills were terrible. I wish you the best in doing better than me!

I did find that CamStudio was worth the money. It's ability to batch upload in a dozen formats to places like youtube, wordpress and blip.tv in one click was worth it alone. It also can auto format for ipod/ipad etc. Very nice

CamStudio does work, but I have found that the sound gets all out of sync. So I can't recommend it as it's going to be VERY editing heavy.

I'm EXCITED to see some videos! I've used Debut. It's free for non-commercial use, so you can at least try it out. Video Capture Software - Capture Streaming Video, Screen Record or Webcam Video Capture

The Internet and You Tube is littered with aborted attempts at training video series..... but if you build a coherent set of videos, eventually you may attract some attention and viewers.

Here's a good example of a good ole local boy making good in the Big Internet Training Scene: http://www.techexams.net/forums/ccie/44678-my-ccie-r-s-video-lab-tutorial-thread.html

I'll be doing MCITP:EA studying and recording my journey with it. I'll make videos showing how I'm studying, labs I'm coming up with, and showing me tripping over problems and solving them with critical thinking.
