Current IOS is c3550-i5q3l2-mz.121-9.EA1c.bin.
I have noticed on the Cisco site that you don't need a contract to download IOS's for this device?
What do you think?
Its a 24 Port 3550 EMI.
Many thanks.

Optionswbosher Member Posts: 422I'm not very familiar with this model of switch, as I've never used one, but I alway get the latest IOS for switches because they're free to download.
Another reason, is just to get the experience of doing the upgrade and troubleshooting any issues along the way. Sometimes these thing go smooth as silk, other times...not so well. This site and Google will definately be your friend if it all turns to s**t.
Certainly an interesting and very valuable experience. -
OptionsFutura Member Posts: 191Thanks for the advice,
I really am confused when it comes to the IOS's available on the Cisco site.
I'm never sure if they are the right version. Or if they are stable releases or not. And the letters etc, like (ED) etc etc confusing?
the latest one seems to be 12.2.44-SE6(ED)
What i think i'll do is back the old one up, install the new one and try it. If it goes wrong then put the existing one back on.
