Removed cards still password recovery disabled

sucks! look even after I removed the cards still says:

    Very weird. Did you have router(config)# no service password-recovery entered? That is the only reason password recovery would be disabled.

    Are you able to get into ROMMON?

    Sounds like you need to recover from the no service password-recovery command.

    The router's fine -- you just can't access the configuration (to change the password or steal the configuration) and your only option is to blow the configuration away and go back to the factory defaults.

    yeah it is a 1711 used by ATT at our IT Shop, but they replaced it with a 1841 so I took it for my lab and yeah need to wipe it out.
    didnt know where to do the break sequence...thanks that helps a lot thank you Mikej and my IT brothers :)you can never have too many routers you know :)

    Have you tried .45 ACP? :)
    Cisco was my first networking love, but my "other" router is a Mikrotik...
