T1 DSU\CSU Frame Relay setup

I am trying to setup a Frame Relay using 3640, 2600, 2620xm and 2650xm. I followed the below write up:

Life on the LAN

I am using T1 DSU\DSU cards in all the routers. I do not have WIC 1T cards in order to follow the write up techexams.

I know its pretty much the same commads but there are slight differences. After going through the write up my line is up, but protcol is down. I'm failing to see what I am missing.

Has anyone done this setup?

have you set the clock rate? Post your config.

I did finally get the link to stay up, but I could not ping the IPs. I blew up one of my routers last night after not checking the memory requirements. So I will look at this once my memory upgrade comes in the mail.
