Perferrably short reads that are geared towards IT management.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Difficult question. Anyone can give you links to books. Leadership you learn by leading. If you are lucky you fly. If not lucky, you will make some mistakes, bad judgements, lack of descretion, bad assumptions.

And that's ok. Go into leadership with an open mind. Try your best, and cultivate an ability to reflect on how your day went and how your relationships with everyone you work with sit. There is no management cookbook because you are dealing with personalities and individuals. Be true to yourself, set objectives, be strong, cultivate a softer side. Read some books. Then do it and work at it.

I have an Honours Degree in Management and a lot of management experience.
