See the pic below. Ports 11 and 12 on my 2950s are trunks. They are set for speed 100, full duplex on both ends. For some reason port 11 on switch 2 is showing an orange light. I swapped the cables and the issue remains. I hit the MODE switch and checked speed and duplex and they show up correctly.

I meant spanning-tree. Unplug the other cable, give it a minute and see if it greens up. Or a show spanning-tree and verify the port state.An expert is a man who has made all the mistakes which can be made. -

Solid amber
Port is not forwarding. Port was disabled by management, an address violation, or Spanning Tree Protocol (STP).
Note After a port is reconfigured, the port LED can remain amber for up to 30 seconds while STP checks the switch for possible loops.
If you want to bundle 2 links togheter to form a single trunk, maybe you should look at this
