How did you like that FCNSA course? I didn't get that much out of it. -
NullCode Member Posts: 72 ■■□□□□□□□□Well i did not take the course(if you went that i took the course that Fortinet provided).
I work with Fortigate on daily basis, so i learned by doing. I have the 201 and 301 books at home. So the experience and the studing helped me.
I think that Fortigate is one of the top firewalls i worked with. I worked with ASA/PIX and Netscreen(SSG 5).
The thing is that Fortigate is easy to use, and has a lot of features. Like with VDOMs you do not lose anything, but with contexts, you lose a lot of features.
What is your experience with fortigate?
P.S.:I think that Fortigate will be soon on the 1st or 2nd place of the most selled firewalls in the world, due to the AD integration(FSAE). -
RTmarc Member Posts: 1,082 ■■■□□□□□□□I have a heavy FortiGate background. I was just wondering if the course was any good these days.

Btw, how do you find the debugging of the fortigate ? I think it is really bad, when you compare it with Cisco debugging.
If you debug a VPN, you cannot see a lot of things on the fortigate. -
Tijs Registered Users Posts: 6 ■□□□□□□□□□I'm planning on taking the FCNSA exam in the next few weeks, I administer FortiGates on a daily basis so it shouldn't be too hard.
From what I've heard from my colleagues, the FCNSP is extremely hard as there is so much stuff that you need to study for, and the questions tend to be very tricky. You pretty much need to know the admin guide inside out if what they told me is true, also you need quite a bit of experience with the other products (FortiMail & FortiAnalyzer).
If you do take it, let us know how it goes. -
Chivalry1 Member Posts: 569I am a Fortinet fan. I heard the certifications can be difficult. I was attempting to attend the course offered in Boston back in 2003 but my employer at the time did not have the funds.
Although I don't work with much firewall technology these days....I think the certifications are well worth the investment. I am seeing a lot more post on jobs sites requiring these skills.
There is one guy on this site who has his FCNSP. TechExams.net IT Certification Forums - View Profile: NightShade1"The recipe for perpetual ignorance is: be satisfied with your opinions and
