Cisco BGP Redistribution "Bug"
pitviper
Anybody have a KB link to such an animal? While troubleshooting a routing issue with our ISP (we lost 55+ dynamically learned EIGRP routes) - after getting through the typical "you guys messed with something" speech - the engineer learned that they lost a link to one of their COs and the routing table never updated once it was back online. It was chalked up as a "Cisco BGP redistribution bug". Fixed by them bouncing the routing protocol.
Just curios as to what conditions need to me met in order for this to happen.

Ask them for a bug ID. It will be kind of hard to tell with out knowing the device and code.

Engineer said he was on a GSR. I'll see if I can get more info. Just more so curios if this is something that is well documented (I'm a voice guy

Don't know if this helps at all. Sounds like the routes were dampened per a flapping circuit...maybe the one you were told was down.
