How are you all preparing for the CCNP Voice exams while awaiting reference materials from Cisco Press?
CIPT 1 and 2 will be released in June. Are the 6.0 books good for the 8.0 material? No info regarding CAPPS and TVOICE has been released yet.
Best Regards,
Sieff

If I was studying for the CIPT exams, this is what I would do:
go on safaribooksonline and grab the the new quick reference guides and go through those first. Then I'd watch the CBT nuggets on the relevant section. Also, the rough cuts of the actual books are available on safaribooks online (they're nearly complete minus 1-2 chapters).
I'd say more than 80% of the material will be the same. I believe one major topic from the CIPT2 has been moved to CIPT 1, also I believe security has been removed completely from the exams. Honestly, if you grabbed the rough cuts for the 8.0 or the nearly finished 8.0 safari books, you'd have a pretty good idea.
Also, theres a new version of the "configuring comunications manager and unity: step by step guide" coming out in a few months as well, that may be a good companion for your CIPT studies and will bleed into CAPPS. -

It is also part of my job, so that helps.Currently PursuingWGU (BS in IT Network Administration) - 52%| CCIE:Voice Written - 0% (0/200 Hours)mikej412 wrote:Cisco Networking isn't just a job, it's a Lifestyle.

GT-Rob Member Posts: 1,090I just bought the roughcuts that was released a couple of months ago. You only get a PDF, but it beats waiting until June for print.
Its pretty complete, minus the odd diagram here and there. -

I used to hate reading pdfs as opposed to actual books until I got adobe Pro edition, which lets you highlight text, make notes, etc. Now I prefer it.
You may also want to grab the quick reference guide...I think it's like $10. I usually memorize those first as it makes the book reading much easier.
Time to geek out now, goodluck! -

I work for Cisco Press and wanted to let you know that CIPT1, CIPT2 and CVoice 8.0 are available in Rough Cuts in Safari! Quick References are available on ciscopress.com as well!
On the topic of TVoice and CAPPS Quick References are coming to ciscopress.com in April and May. Hope that helps.

They'll be out in May or June, perfect timing to complete the CCIP, buying some Voice hardware, and review all that theory! Air conditioner will be useful this summer :P -
