1337 Post - A Thanks to the community
While my days of frequent posting question in this section are not so frequent anymore, I wanted to post this where I started in this community.
While, at the time of this post, my total post count will equal 1337, it is really this community that deserves the Leet status. I have spent countless hours and days since I joined researching, asking, helping, and constantly learning thanks to the individuals I have been able to communicate with on this forum. I am confidant when I say that, without this community, my current education level would be deprecated compared to where I am with it. For which, I am thankful and grateful.
All of you, be you a new member of junior status with little reputation and a thousand questions to ask, or a seasoned and respected member of this community and in this field with thousands of answers to questions, have become a significant part of my every day endeavors to better myself and strive for future success. Because of this, I wanted to share with all of you what you can make from this wonderful community.
First, I need to thank the Webmaster for creating this environment. This, for those who are new, is an environment filled will selfless acts and joint motivation to help all of us achieve each others goals. Here, people understand that through questions, research, and teamwork, we can learn and retain knowledge much better than if we were flying by ourselves. Here, people learn by asking questions. Here, people remember by answering questions. Here, people retain knowledge by joint research. Here, we help each other help ourselves. Here, our respect for the topics we discuss is only rivaled by our respect for our peers. Here, we are home. Here, we are relaxed. Here, we can make a difference. Here, we can grow.
I joined this community when I was 19, and not even CCNA certified ( If I remember correctly). It is thanks to this forum that I am now 20, a full time student, CCNA:V certified, and 2/5 the way through working on my CCNP:Voice all while working full time, in my field, with professionals. I grew to this point with this community, because of this community. I thank you all very much.
So for all of you just now starting and looking into the future with your endeavors, do not forget where you are. This environment builds on each other. You can choose to hide in the shadows and mooch off of the knowledge presented, or you can choose to join us in our endeavors for greater things. You can join us in building this database of motivation and advice. You can build yourself by learning what you have to share with the community. You can grow yourself, by showing that you have what it takes to be knowledgeable in your field. Prove it to yourself, join our community, and participate with us. We can grow together, and in the end, we will all win.
So this ends my 1337 post. We are of an online status that will give a good name to everything that is our field. Together, this is possible. I thank you all for everything you have given me, and I will continue to provide in this community as I have. Someday, I will be as smart as the people I idolize in this forum (Mikej, Tristan, just to name a few [there are to many to list!]).
Aim for the moon, and you will be sure to do something amazing.
