IE won't maximize correctly.....grrrr

So everything was fine, until a few minutes ago. Whenever I maximize a window in IE, it doesn't look right. The status bar disappears from the bottom, and it doesn't fill the screen to the top leaving a small gap, almost as if it thinks my screen is lower than it is, because I can't see everything I should, without scrolling down.. I tried Sfc, and checking for spyware etc, but no luck....rather annoying....any ideas???

Install Firefox.

Kidding aside...I've had similar problems with IE. It seems they always fix themselves over time...

This is overly aggravating. I don't like FireFox, I tried it. I don't think this will fix itself.....maybe a setting, but I can't find anything.....

Did you try doing a repair through Add/Remove programs? That should set everything to how it was when it was 1st installed... Just an idea

How do you repair through Add/Remove programs?

Going into Windows Components only removes the links and everything, it does nothing to the program. I'm curious, because I was trying to reinstall IE the other day and it was an enormous pain.

Sfc /scannow from command line will reset IE, supposedly........I don't know if it's a display issue, or with IE. I've never had a display problem before, and all the ATI diags passed ok. Only when I maximize....**** me off slowly.....

I tried that on Win2k, to no avail.

There's a registry key you can change which will "delete" IE, then you're supposed to reinstall it. I couldn't get that to work either.

So now it works again.......I think it may have something ot do with Yahoo Toolbar. That disappeared, and then I reinstalled it, but it won't come back. I'll figure that later, I'm just happy to see the whole screen fill up properly. Thx all anyway.......I'll post more if I can find more.....

Did you hit F11? That makes browser go full-screen w/out visible toolbars.

What didn't work? Try my new link below... What OS are you running? Xp is a little different, I don't think you can repair through Add remove programs in Windows XP.

It's all good now. Yahoo Toolbar I think caused some problems, because now that's gone, it won't come back, even under a reinstall. No big deal. Thx all.
