Confused about CCENT/CCNA

DEMENT3D1DEMENT3D1 Member Posts: 11 ■□□□□□□□□□
A quick background. I was a Biomedical Engineering major, which I liked but did not see myself doing it for rest of my life. I went to Introduction to Networking class, liked it then took another Networking class and now I am getting my A.S in Networking at end of semester. I plan to go for my B.S.

Anyway about Cisco that got me confused.

For CCENT I would have to pass the ICND1 exam
For CCNA it says ICND1 and ICND2 exams.

If I take the ICND1 and pass it, get CCENT and few months down the road I am ready for CCNA, will I have to retake ICND1 and 2 or just the second part of the exam?

    Thank you.

I plan to take the ICND1 by end of June and ICND2 by end of the year.

I am mainly worried about the lab part, so far I been using packet tracer and the real equipment in school lab.

    I also suck at subnetting.

    get ccent first then ccna

    i passed ccent(valid for 3 years) on 14th march
ccent is just about subnetting, theory of networking, basic router and switch operations
for ccna(icnd2) you could join classes for lab practise
    it consists of various protocols

if given in 2 step u will get atlease ccent if passed icnd1 then proceed on icnd2

    get packet tracer
    icnd1 wendell odom book
train signal or cbt nuggets video
    and last subnetting practise
