I plan on switching out the stock fans in the 3745 (loud!) with some slower colored fans

usually no because it will normally void your smartnet contract.

Plus I think there are some issues with not using provided fans, there is some pinout that the switch uses to confirm that the fan's are functioning and not using standard fans may cause this to error every time you start your switch. I am not sure if that stops it from booting, but it would surely tick me off.

I'm considering taping "Groucho Glasses" over the Juniper logos of the stuff I tell people the cats dragged into my home Cisco Lab.

And I have a couple of short battery operated LED light strings from IKEA I drape over the racks sometimes -- the purple lights confuse people.

LOL... the fan connectors stay in tact... just tap the wires and presto.. lol blue led fans and a matching theme with my PC=)
