Getting an error when trying to access my inbox

When I was trying to access my email on one of my accounts this afternoon on Thunderbird I got"
"server does not support RFC 5746, see CVE-2009-3555"
From what I have read, it's a mail server security misconfiguration issue. Does anybody know how to override this in Thunderbird? I"m looking online right now on how to get Thunderbird to ignore the issue for now. The particular email account does use SSL
UPDATE: Now it's starting to work again, and my entire inbox is being re-downloaded

2nd update: I'm still having issues, I had to log into the web interface to check my mail, and I still was getting occasional timeout errors when trying to send e-mails.
