Recommendation for Cisco Router
Hi everyone,
With inevitable IPv6 switchover moving into high-gear we are interested in replacing our Sonicwall 4060 with something from Cisco. We need something that can provides IDS, Hybrid/Dual Stack IPv6/IPv4 support, up to 75 VPN users, VLANs, and multiple WAN interfaces.
I plan on doing further research into whatever models are suggested, but I figured there was no better place to ask for advice!
Thanks!

Panzer919 Member Posts: 462If you need all that, I would suggest getting an ASA and a router. Depending on the size of your org and what all you intend on doing will depend on what kind of router. You may be able to get away with a 2900 or 3900 series router or you may need a bigger player like a 7200 or 6500 series.Cisco Brat Blog
I think “very senior” gets stuck in there because the last six yahoos that applied for the position couldn’t tell a packet from a Snickers bar.

I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

Everlife Member Posts: 253 ■■■□□□□□□□Thanks Panzer. We're a relatively small organization (less than 75 employees), but we have a fairly complex network due to the type of work we do.
We've been running a SonicWall Pro 4060 for the past few years and it's done its job nicely. Unfortunately, last time I checked, SonicWall had not officially announced support for IPv6. I want to be proactive about this and would like to have a few models in mind for when we are ready to upgrade the router.
I'll look into the models you suggested.
Thanks!
