2610XM mem upgrade issue

Tried to upgrade the mem on my 2610XM tonight and it locked up the first time and booted into rommon 1 the 2nd power cycle. Before I attempted the upgrade I did backup the cfg and IOS to my tftp server. I removed the new 128 stick and rebooted and it came back up fine. In researching the forums I did notice that I might not have the right IOS to see the 256? It did show 256 after it booted into rommon but?? I do have the correct ROM and my flash looks good. Error is failed uncompression. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated? Thanks!

Forsaken_GA Member Posts: 4,024Your bootrom is fine.
I'd suspect a bad stick of memory, since it passes through all the normal boot up procedures, but dies when it's actually trying to decompress the image into memory (ie, it's actually trying to use memory). That, or a bad slot -
NCIT Member Posts: 19 ■□□□□□□□□□mattlee09 & Forsaken GA,
I tried moving the old stick to the second (was empty) slot and it powered up with no problems. Added in the new stick in to the first slot and had the original in the 2nd slot and it powered up with no issues. I just hope this doesn't rear up again down the road. Thanks for the suggestions!
The bootup looks good to me? (deleted out the bs)

NCIT Member Posts: 19 ■□□□□□□□□□The only other thing I can think of is that it might have had some dirt in the slot and sliding in and out the mem several times might have cleaned it.

Sucks getting to that point sometime, but that relieved feeling is kinda addicting
