Help guys!!

This may sound like a lame question . well i'm just starting to my ccna labs on packet tracer . The thing that confuses me is the assignment of modules on the back of the router ,can some one plz clear the that topic for me or explain what each modules means like how do you recognise which module to choose for which scenario.

But i wanna know when does a router have both FE/E and serial interfaces on its side. Does WIC mean their's a serial interface available ?
