This isn't that big of a deal, I understand the concept, but on page 210 of the cisco press icnd2 book, it says that the 2nd, 3rd and 4th subnets are used in figure 5-2 (two pages previous). The figure uses VLSM and has overlapping subnets. Are they assuming that they changed the network off R3's Fa0/0 to 172.16.6.0/24? I guess they have to be, but it would be better if they were more clear about it.

Monkerz Member Posts: 842Have you looked at the Errata for this book?Page 210 – 1 paragraph after table 5-4 – 2nd line – instead of "second, third, and fourth subnets…", it should read "second, third, and fifth subnets…". Then, in the next paragraph, 3rd to last line, the reference to "172.16.8.0/23" should instead be "172.16.6.0/23".
