VLSM on CCENT?

Is VLSM on the CCENT? the Sybex book covers it but the Cisco ICND1 book does not?
Sybex is also very heavy on the SDM while ICND is not.
There is a lot of stuff the Sybex CCEnt book covers while the Cisco ICND1 book did not go over.

According to the exam topics, it is not covered in ICND1 (CCENT). It is covered in ICND2 (CCNA). It is still worth learning if you are getting into the subletting mindset.
