I enrolled in a university program that after you complete will have your certifications. Does it make sense to start with A+, Network+, and Security + Certs and no Microsoft?

I would start with the CompTIA exams which will help build a solid foundation for your IT career then move into Microsoft or Cisco depending on what job role interests you the most whether it's networking or server administration.
