Everyone
I'm still new to this website and have been studying for the past couple of months preparing to take the test.
Just wanted to thank everybody for all their advice and information on this website.
Here are the study materials i've been using.
Books and Practice tests:
Microsoft Pressbook Configuring Windows 7
Darril Gibsons 70-685 & 70-686
MCTS Exam Cram 70-680 (Skimmed thru the book & used the practice test)
Skillsoft (Provided for free from agency)
Measureup Practice test (Provided from MS Pressbook CD)
Lab setup:
Windows Server 2008 R2 (Trial Version)
Windows 7 Enterprise (Trial Version)
Windows 7 Professional (Laptop)
I found myself memorizing more of the syntax than GUI.
Wish me luck. I'll let everybody know if i pass or fail.

Took the test Monday afternoon and unfortunately I didn't pass. My score was 620. Thought that all my studying would pay off. Did pretty good on the first half of the test.
70-680 (50 questions)
I missed all my questions in this chapter which played a big role to fail the test.
- Monitoring and Maintaining systems that run Windows 7 (11% of test)
Been reading this chapter all week to prepare for my test again. I'm glad that I have a second chance to retake this test.
I found that having a lab setup with Windows Server 2008 helped me answer the some of the questions on the test.
There were also questions on the test that were never mentioned in all the study guides that I've used. Not sure if that threw me off. -

Psoasman Member Posts: 2,687 ■■■■■■■■■□Sorry to hear you didn't pass. I also found with this exam that there is a fair amount of server-related material. I found that reading 686 exam material helped me understand some of the newer concepts.
