As you all know i was hired as a Temp to do warehouse work but transitioned into the I.T department a day after starting. I was exposed to Server 2003, Domains, Active Directory, Implementing Networks, Managing the Network and ETC. Well the guy who i work under comes to me and says " Due to the economy and what not we have to let you go, However you did an outstanding job on the tasks we gave you and we will keep our eyes open when new positions are available. I will take what ive learned and use it as materials on my resume and keep looking for jobs and gaining experience

MickQ Member Posts: 628 ■■■■□□□□□□That's some let down, alright. Did they give an idea of how supportive they'd be in being a reference?

I second the look at other places too. -

Not with that attitude they won't. If you haven't put yourself up for consideration, how can they consider you?
You have some experience now, that counts for a lot. I landed a few jobs with no degrees and no certs, had several offers for other. Now I only have 1 current cert and a couple outdated ones, no degree, still making great money. -

Just be presentable at interviews and have some confidence!
I agree with everyone else about looking outside the temp agency. Twice I got canned without warning at no fault of my own going through temp agencies.
Direct hire is the way to go. That or I.T. recruitment firms if you can't get into a company direct.Climb a mountain, tell no one. -

You won't just get calls because your resume is up on job sites unless your resume is outstanding. You need to start applying and sending in your resume if you want to start getting calls. -
