Got an email this morning. Network admin in ATL. Talked to the recruiter this afternoon and then an email this evening. They want to do a phone and face to face interview. I am stunned. I live in TN and they knowcthis. I am a little freaked out and excited at the same time. Any thoughts or suggestions?

At 1st they told me they don't do that. Friends and family thought I was nuts for asking in a down economy, but I insisted, and was able to negotiate it.
The thing is, if the recruiter contacted you, and they know you live outside the area, and they decide to hire you, that means they haven't been able to find anyone in the local area.
I told them their salary offer was a little low, and the only way I'd be willing to accept a lower offer like that would be if they paid for my move. Otherwise they needed to start me off higher. I ended up starting a little higher than their initial offer, AND having the move paid for. Now 2 years later I'm at the salary I wanted to begin with just from regular annual raises.
Also since they want a face to face, see if they'll pay to fly you out for it. If they say no, tell them you're really interested in the position, but think it'd be financially irresponsible to spend whatever it costs you to fly to ATL. Ask them if they'd be willing to do another phone interview instead of the face to face.
Between round trip airfare, renting a car, and getting a hotel, it was going to cost me almost $1000 to fly out for an interview. They agreed that was a little unreasonable for an interview, and decided to do my second interview over the phone. I was hired over the phone and didn't meet anyone until I had completed my orientation.
If the cost isn't that high for you to travel to ATL for the face to face, and they won't pay for the travel, AND you think its worth it, don't push it too hard, do what you need to do to get there. -
