Different contract with same employer

Question for all the contractors out there. I have been working with the same contractor for around a year and a half now. I started in help desk and was promoted to Sys Admin after a little over 4 months. I have been a Sys Admin for the last year.
Recently, I have been seeing job postings for information security related jobs, which is what I want to get into. Question is,would it look bad if I post for a different position/different contract with the same company I currently work at?

Not at all. You'll have better chances of getting it from the inside and most companies encourage their employees to move up into other positions with them.
I'm sure they'd much rather see you move up within the company rather than leave for a different one.
