I've been out of touch with computer parts and want to get an update on RAM.
I'm just wondering which memory types are mostly used nowadays in desktops and laptops, e.g. DDR3, DDR2 and etc? What about RAM for laptops?
I and a friend of mine may get into selling computer parts and it would be nice to learn from folks who deal with it daily than from a site.

Optionsexampasser Member Posts: 718 ■■■□□□□□□□Most newer computers these days use DDR3(most recent) or DDR2. Laptops these days typically use SO-DIMMs (shorter and fatter in comparison to desktop RAM sticks.) and come in DDR3 and DDR2. Most AMD desktop motherboards have a maximum capacity of 16 GB of RAM.
Just spitting out some RAM facts, hope this helps. -
