Hello all,
As you can see I am planning on taking 70-640 by the end of June. I already possess A+, Net+ and Windows 7 (70-680) certifications. I would like to know any tips on approaching the material? I already have CBT Nuggets videos from my school. Thanks.

MentholMoose Member Posts: 1,525 ■■■■■■■■□□70-640 is a great exam since the material it covers is so important, but if you recently passed 70-680, I suggest you consider taking 70-686. There is A LOT of overlap with 70-680, and passing 70-686 will get you the MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Administrator 7 certification.MentholMoose

The main aim of preparing for an exam is actually learning the material, not just passing it. What good is passing an exam, if in real life/at work someone asked you to help with folder permissions or with Win 7 deployment and you go I didnt study that. Imagine the embarrassment! Study the material, practice in a lab environment, ensure you know why and how something happens. Take MentholMoose's advice, you wont go wrong.
Practice tests are only there to gauge your preparedness and point out your weak links. Out of curiosity, what practice exam did you use? -
Essendon Member Posts: 4,546 ■■■■■■■■■■I would post it but it won't allow me to.
You know why? Because it was most likely a ****. **** are actual exam questions made and used by chumps.
That being said, it's easy to use them if you dont know what they are. I didnt know what a **** was when I started my IT career. To ensure you dont use **** and keep your certification (MS can ban you from ever taking an exam if you were found out), check your practice exam at CertGuard | IT Certification Exam Security & Integrity -
higherho Member Posts: 882I'm curious would this book be a good read for information? This is free for me;
MCTS configuring Windows server 2008 active directory services study guide (exam 70-640) (eBook, 2009) [Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania]
I would of course get different material when I get paid but I figured for now would this suffice?
EDIT here is another;

Just curious, what's the major difference between MCITP:EDST and MCITP:EDA?
