Are there any IT/finance jobs?

I have a good amount of years in the finance/ retirement plans field but I want to switch over to the IT/ IT security field...I'm questioning if I should really switch over to the IT field and lose all my experience in the finance field....are there any jobs out there in IT or IT security that want you to have a finance background as well?

I would say check with the IRS's fraud department but I'm not sure what the criminal justice aspect of the job would require prior to applying (aka Bachelors of Business/Finance vs. Bachelors in Crim w/Finance exp?). A job with them will probably land you in the auditing side of things.

Is it worth dropping everything to swap to IT Sec? That's based on your life situation. If you have a family and need stability you might want to wait before taking the paycut (I'm not sure what your experience with IT in general is). If you're single and have a decent amount of savings, it might be plausible to.

I will probably edit this later because I'm not sure if I'm making a whole lot of sense :P.

If you work in an organization that processes a lot of credit cards and are working towards PCI compliance the Finance and IT are usually working hand in hand with each other.

If you understand planning, budgeting, and forecasting at a high level you should be able to find a solid IT job in the finance sector. Look for Finance and Controlling in SAP and other ERP cash to order based systems.

Try looking at Citizens Financial Group. Big companies always seem to have a variety of Financial Jobs open.
