NPS and RADIUS

hi guys, bear with me for my noob questions..
i'm reading the MS Press for 70-642 exam. There was a procedure that it says it has intall the core NPS service and is sufficient to use the Windows Server 2008 computer as a RADIUS server for 802.1X, VPN, or DHCP enforcement.

My questions is if you install NPS does it mean you also configure the RADIUS server? or how to differentiate NPS from the RADIUS server?

Thanks for any input. icon_wink.gif

It is part of the NPS role in Server 2008 i.e. you need to install the NPS role if you want to use RADIUS.

If you install and view NPS, you'll see various sub-items under it which will include 'RADIUS Clients and Servers'. My advice is to go ahead and install the NPS role on a test system/VM and see for itself, it'll soon be cleared up :)
