Cisco certifications with VMware VCP requirement

I've come across these two certs:

Cisco Data Center Unified Computing Design Specialist
Cisco Data Center Unified Computing Support Specialist

Both list VMware VCP as one of the requirements:
All candidates must meet the following baseline requirements:
  1. Pass the VMware Certified Professional exam: VCP3 (#VCP310) or VCP4 (#VCP410) Certification Exam
Required: Cisco requires validation of passing the VCP3 or VCP4 exam from VMware.
I just find it interesting that one vendor makes another vendor's cert a prerequisite for its own, and especially since it is Cisco and VMware.

They deal with the Cisco UCS platform which was built with VMware being the primary OS run on the platform. That's why they want you to be a VCP. Plus there's a coalition between VMware, Cisco, and EMC called vBlock in which those products are the core components. These are two certs I'd like to look into after I finish my VCP.
